Martial Noodles
This is a commissioned sculpture for Chai 9, a delicious restaurant. The concept comes from a step in the noodle-making process: hanging the noodles on bamboo to dry. Another impression comes from how noodles twist around bamboo chopsticks when we eat. I was drawn to the contrast between the soft, flowing curves of noodles and the straight lines of bamboo—both in form and in color. In shaping the final work, I aimed to evoke the poised presence and ceremonial stance of a martial arts master.

麵功夫
這是為我喜歡的新竹在地麵館「翟九」新開的竹北遠百店所做的門面雕塑，構想來自關於我對麵條的兩個迷人印象，一個是製麵過程用竹子將麵條掛起來整曬的環節，另一個是吃麵時，麵條纏繞在筷子上千變萬化的模樣。柔軟的麵條曲線和筆直的竹子間，在形態和色彩上的對比關係，是很吸引我的微小魅力。最後在處理造形時，我希望能詮釋出一代宗師那種不怒自威的武術體態和儀式感。
