Nesting Plan V Black Bulbul
The Nesting Plan series learns from the architectural expertise of the animal builders inhabiting each site, interpreting their nesting techniques through human construction materials and craftsmanship as a tribute to their remarkable natural instincts.
This work is set in the Terraced Hills of Hualien, where the artist focuses on the Black Bulbul, a unique subspecies endemic to Taiwan, thriving at low and mid elevations. Cloaked in black plumage with only its beak and feet glowing red, it weaves spiral, bowl-shaped nests from grass stems and leaves.
The artist pays homage to the Black Bulbul with a wooden structure inspired by its spiral nest. By day, sunlight filters through the nest, casting layered, spiral shadows; by night, the central hearth is uncovered, setting alight the fire myth that binds the Black Bulbul and the Bunun.

築巢計畫V 紅嘴黑鵯
《築巢計畫》系列創作向棲息在基地中的動物建築師學習牠們的築巢方式，並以人類的構築材料與技藝詮釋，向牠們精采的天賦本能致敬。
這次的創作地點位於花蓮梯田山，藝術家關注著在基地棲息的紅嘴黑鵯，一種活躍於中低海拔的台灣特有亞種鳥類。全身黑羽，僅有嘴喙與雙腳燃著鮮紅的牠們，以草莖、樹葉建起螺旋狀的碗形巢。藝術家學習牠的築巢特色，並以木構築向其致敬。白晝裡，陽光透過巢穴劉轉出層疊的螺旋光影。入夜後，中央的火爐被掀起，點燃紅嘴黑鵯與布農族充滿魅力的火種神話。
