Boat in the form of an olive pit
The artwork “Olive pit in the form of a boat” exhibited in the National Palace Museum was created by famous ivory sculptor Zuzhang Chen in the 2nd year of Qianlong reign (1737) by carving a boat out of an olive pit. Artist Cheng-Tsung Feng turns around Chen’s concept of “a pit in the form of a boat” and pays a tribute to Chen by making “a boat in the form of a pit” after 285 years. Feng has created this vertically symmetrical olive pit-shaped installation artwork by applying the traditional wooden boat making technique. It presents a perspective from the ancient to modern time, from the Chibi story to the Kinmen landscape, from a palm-size pit to a true-size boat; visitors may now step into the artwork and wander spiritually around the pit boat and the boat pit.

舟核
故宮文物「雕橄欖核舟（Olive pit in the form of a boat）」由著名牙匠陳祖章於乾隆二年（1737）以橄欖核雕製一艘蓬船，藝術家范承宗透過將陳祖章「以核造舟」的概念顛覆，透過「以舟造核」向相隔285年前的陳祖章致敬，他應用傳統木船結構技術，打造一座上下對稱形似橄欖的空間裝置作品，從古至今，自赤壁到金門，從掌中細賞到身在其中，人們入內歇息片刻，神往核舟與舟核間的同遊快意。
微型創作計畫以舟核作品延伸，創作出一艘結合核舟輪廓、人造衛星、太空船與有機海洋生物印象的雕塑，它正悄悄造訪著金門老宅中的斜坡客棧。
